Report: Jaycee Horn Contract Eyed by Panthers; Team to Pursue 'Big-Name Players' in FA
The Carolina Panthers reportedly have big plans for this offseason, including rewarding one of their rising young stars.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the Panthers "want to complete an extension with star corner Jaycee Horn sooner rather than later." Horn is set to make $12.4 million in 2025 on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal.
"That market is due for an explosion, with looming deals for Derek Stingley Jr. and Sauce Gardner. So the Panthers are working to get ahead of that," Fowler explained.

The No. 8 pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Horn finally reached his full potential after three nondescript years in the league and was selected to his first career Pro Bowl this past season. He appeared in a career-high 15 games and produced 68 total tackles, 13 passes defended, two sacks and an interception.
In addition to Horn's potential big payday, the Panthers are reportedly preparing to spend big to make upgrades at other positions as well. ESPN's Dan Graziano reported, "Expect the Panthers to be seeking big-name players in free agency," and named some of their potential targets.
"I think Carolina could be in on the top safeties -- Jevon Holland, Camryn Bynum, etc. -- and might be one of the teams willing to spend big to lure defensive tackle Milton Williams away from the Super Bowl champion [Philadelphia] Eagles. The Panthers will also look to add edge rush help, with Chase Young being one of the intriguing options there," Graziano stated.
