NFL Draft 2025 Rumors: 'Overwhelming Belief' Browns Will Take QB With No. 2 Pick
The Cleveland Browns are reportedly eyeing a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
Per ESPN's Dan Graziano, "the overwhelming belief" is that the Browns will keep their No. 2 pick and use it to select either Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. Graziano noted that Cleveland's preference between the two is unknown, but the team would be "OK" taking whichever signal-caller doesn't go No. 1 overall.
The Browns still have to pay Deshaun Watson $46 million in 2025 and 2026, but the team "is thinking about what comes next at the position" after how the last few years have gone for Watson.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Since joining Cleveland in 2022, Watson has played just 19 games and could miss most, if not all of the 2025 season after a second surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon in January.
Both Ward or Sanders could be Cleveland's next franchise quarterback after years of struggle. Ward, a Heisman Trophy finalist, had 4,313 passing yards and 39 touchdowns in his final collegiate season. Sanders finished the 2024 season with 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns.
If the Browns decide not to take a quarterback, they will have plenty of outstanding prospects at their disposal. Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department projects Cleveland to take Penn State star EDGE Abdul Carter at No. 2.
