Tyreek Hill: 'Feeling like I Can Run a 4.2' After Watching NFL Combine 40-Yard Dashes
Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill believes that he can still post an elite 40-yard dash time after watching NFL draft prospects at the 2025 scouting combine.
"These combine 40 yard dashes got me feeling like I can run a 4.2," Hill wrote in a social media post.
The 31-year-old completed the 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds at West Alabama's Pro Day leading up to the 2016 NFL draft.
The fastest 40-yard dash by a 2025 prospect was recorded by Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston, who finished with an official time of 4.28 seconds.
Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden clocked in at 4.29 seconds, while Iowa State corner Darien Porter rounded out the top three by completing his 40-yard dash in 4.30 seconds.
Even though Hill is far removed from his Pro Day 40-yard dash, he's continued to prove himself as one of the NFL's fastest players.
He reached a top speed of 22.01 miles per hour in Week 5 of the 2023 season, representing the sixth-fastest speed reached by any ball-carrier over the past two years (via Next Gen Stats).
Hill is coming off a 2024 season that fell below his standards, failing to earn a Pro Bowl nod for the first year of his career. He caught 81 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns.
His individual production was surprisingly low, especially since he led the NFL with 1,799 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns during his 2023 campaign.
It's worth noting that Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa appeared in just 11 games last season, missing four consecutive contests from Week 3 through Week 7 with a concussion.
As Hill attempts to bounce back in 2025, he's still confident that he can go toe-to-toe with the incoming rookie class in the 40-yard dash.
