Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez Headline Outdoor Boxing Card in Times Square

Julia StumbaughFeb 28, 2025

Outdoor boxing is coming to Times Square this May.

Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and Teófimo López are set to headline three different title card bouts during a May 2 event titled "Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves," presented by The Ring Magazine in association with the video game company SNK.

The details of the event card were shared Friday by Turki Alalshikh, the chairperson of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority.

The event will open as López, 21-1 (13 KOs) defends his WBO junior welterweight title against interim lightweight world champion Arnold Barboza (32-0, 11 KOs.)

Former undisputed lightweight champion Haney, 31-0, 1 NC (15 KOs) will then take on Jose Carlos Ramirez, 29-2 (18 KOs) in the welterweight bout.

Garcia, 24-1, 1 NC (18 KOs) has finished the year-long suspension he received after failing a drug test that invalidated his decision win against Haney last April in New York City. He will return to the ring for the main event against Rolly Romero, 16-2 (13 KOs.)

Should Garcia and Haney win their respective fights, the two are expected to rematch this year in Saudi Arabia during a Riyadh Season event, according to The Ring Magazine's Matt Penn.

López will meanwhile be set to take on IBF light welterweight title holder Richardson Hitchins in a unification bout if he defeats Barboza, Penn noted.

The bouts will be shown on pay-per-view, according to Alalshikh. Further broadcast details have yet to be announced.

The event is the latest high-profile event connected to Alalshikh, who was identified in September by ESPN as the most influential person in boxing. Last year his Riyadh Season series featured two highly-anticipated heavyweight title fights between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.
