Cam Ward Discusses Potential Fit with Browns, Titans amid 2025 NFL Draft Rumors
2025 NFL Draft prospect Cam Ward believes he can be a high-impact player right away for whatever team selects him.
During his press conference at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, Ward expressed his belief that he could be a "plug-and-play" quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, who hold the top selection in the draft.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
He also showed some love to the Cleveland Browns, who hold the No. 2 pick in the Draft.
"They do an unbelievable job on offense getting people open," Ward told reporters. "They have an unbelievable offensive line, Jerry Jeudy is one of the best receivers in the league. If I go there, I know it will work out good."
He also addressed criticism about his habit of holding onto the football, stating that he does it to allow his receivers to get open.
Ward is rated as the No. 8 overall prospect and the No. 1 quarterback in the draft class byย Bleacher Report's Scouting Department. He has an excellent 2024 season at Miami, where he threw for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He was named an All-American, won the ACC Player of the Year award and finished fourth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.
The Titans hold the top draft choice after a difficult year in which the team went 3-14. Will Levis and Mason Rudolph both saw significant time at quarterback in 2024, with neither showing much promise for the future. Tennessee could plug Ward in as a future piece, but also could trade the pick for more draft capital or add a playmaker to address a lack of talent on the roster.
The Browns also went 3-14 in 2024 but reached the playoffs in 2023 with an 11-6 record. A lot of the issues came at quarterback, where Deshaun Watson and Jameis Winston saw the bulk of playing time. Watson is still under contract but is recovering from an Achilles tear, so adding a rookie quarterback could be an intriguing option for a team that has some talent on the roster.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set for April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
