Patriots Players Give 'F' Grade to Travel; Plane Lacks Wi-Fi and Has Ashtrays in Seats

Joseph ZuckerFeb 26, 2025

New England Patriots players once again pulled no punches when it came to the state of some of the franchise's amenities.

The NFL Players Association released its annual report cards for all 32 teams Wednesday. The Patriots received a grade of "F" for their weight room and team travel.

Their players said they want a larger team plane, and they complained about a lack of Wi-Fi along with the fact the seats still have ashtrays in the arm rests.

A lack of space and substandard equipment were cited as concerns with the weight room.

The Patriots' 2024 report card told a similar story, as they ranked 30th or worse in three different categories: treatment of families, weight room and strength coaches.

Fans were surprised to learn the organization didn't provide daycare, and team owner Robert Kraft was called out for how much—or how little, in this case—he invested in facilities.

"I must tell you, I was unaware of how bad that was," Kraft told reporters last March. "We've had a plan, and we put in place, where we're committing a whole new facility adjacent to ours that has been discussed with the young leadership team—a building that will be in excess of $50 million that will have the most [modern] facilities.

"We have to correct anything [unfavorable]. I was not aware, even of this day care issue. That's something that's fixable and we want to do. Look, the players are the heart and soul of the business. I'd be very surprised if that didn't improve."

The 2025 report card cited the fact New England now has daycare services during home games, but it appears that did little to build goodwill toward Kraft. The Patriots' ownership grade went from 27th to 29th.

Next year could tell a much different story because infrastructure improvements are on the way.

Kraft might be writing another big check soon, because team planes don't come cheap.
