Cowboys Will Be 'Selectively Aggressive' in NFL Free Agency, Stephen Jones Says
The Dallas Cowboys had a quiet offseason before their disappointing 2024 campaign, but it sounds like they plan to be more active this time around.
While speaking to reporters on Monday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones indicated that the team will bring a different approach to free agency this year.
"We're gonna look at everything we can, we're gonna be selectively aggressive," Jones said.

The Cowboys were criticized for not pursuing free-agent running back Derrick Henry or any other big-name player who would've filled their roster holes. The team's inactivity resulted in a 7-10 finish to the 2024 season, causing Dallas to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
However, Jones told reporters that he didn't have regrets about the Cowboys' approach last offseason and instead blamed the lackluster campaign on the injuries to key players like star quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys have some work to do to clear up some cap space before free agency, but it sounds like they're prepared to make a run at some of the top players on the market in hopes of returning to playoff contention in 2025.
