Daniel Jeremiah: 'I Love' WRs Emeka Egbuka, Matthew Golden Entering 2025 NFL Draft
The attention at this year’s NFL draft is mostly on star quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but there are a handful of standout receivers in this year’s class as well.
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah noted some of the top receivers on his list, including Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka and Texas’ Matthew Golden.
“There’s a little area in the receiver position I like,” Jeremiah said on The Todd McShay Show (h/t Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer). “It’s the [Emeka] Egbuka–Matthew Golden area—in the 20s. I love both those guys. I think they’re both pros, super polished. In a draft that maybe doesn’t have the star power, I’m leaning into the guys that come in with no operating instructions. They’re easy … super high character, super smart, productive.”

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. also pointed out some of Egbuka’s strengths on First Draft.
“Versatility, professionalism, route running, consistency, blocking, doing the dirty work, doing a lot of the things guys don’t want to do and frankly don’t do, he does,” Kiper said (14:45 mark).
Egbuka was a star at Ohio State, finishing his final season with 1,011 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department projects him to go to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21.
Golden, who began his career at Houston and finished with Texas, had 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns with the Longhorns in 2024. B/R’s Scouting Department projects him to be the 25th pick in the draft to the Houston Texans.
