There are several teams reportedly targeting Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford on the trade market.

Breer noted that "others have shown interest" as well.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
ESPN's Jordan Raanan also reported that the Giants "inquired about Stafford's availability" prior to the Nov. 5 trade deadline during the 2024 season.
The Rams may choose to move on from the veteran passer in order to avoid paying out his remaining contract, as he's set to carry a $49.7 million cap hit in 2025 and a $53.7 million cap hit for the 2026 season (viaย Spotrac).
ESPN'sย Jeremy Fowlerย revealed on Feb. 16 that Los Angeles has a "strong interest" in retaining Stafford, but explained that "he's going to need a new deal" as his contract's current terms are "untenable."
A new contract agreement with the Rams isn't completely out of the question, as the 37-year-old worked out anย adjusted dealย prior to the 2024 season that included a $23.5 million guaranteed salary.
If both sides can't find common ground once again, a change of scenery could occur before the 2025 season begins.
Stafford is one year removed from his last Pro Bowl appearance in 2023 and is coming off an efficient 2024 campaign for the Rams, helping lead them to a divisional-round playoff appearance.
In 16 starts, he completed 65.8 percent of his throws for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions. Stafford also racked up 533 yards and four scores without getting picked off in two playoff games.
The Steelers could view the signal-caller as an upgrade over 2024 starters Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. The Giants, Browns and Raiders appear to be interested in Stafford as they attempt to end their respective playoff droughts.
If the Rams can't agree to a new contract with the quarterback, it shouldn't be difficult for them to find a willing trade partner.
