NFL Insiders: Shedeur Sanders Would Be Late 1st, Early 2nd Rounder in 'Ideal World'
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders would be a late first- or early second-round draft prospect in an “ideal world,” per people who have spoken with NFL analyst and NFL Films senior producer Greg Cosell on the matter.
The latest B/R NFL Scouting Department big board has Sanders at No. 16 overall among all prospects and second on the quarterback list behind Miami’s Cam Ward. Sanders is graded as an 8.0 on a 10-point scale. Any player graded from 8.0-8.4: is considered a “Year 1 Starter / Late 1st-2nd Round” pick.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Regardless of where one stands on his talent and pro prospects, Sanders should be going far earlier than the late first round or early second round in April’s draft.
The latest consensus mock draft from the NFL Mock Draft Database has him going third overall to the New York Giants. That’s exactly where the B/R NFL Scouting Department mock draft placed him in its latest publication.
Sanders was exceptional at Colorado, helping turn around a program that went just 1-11 in 2022, the year before his arrival. The Buffaloes improved to 9-4 last year, with a bowl game appearance and a No. 25 spot in the final Associated Press poll. He finished the season with 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns (10 interceptions).
Now he moves onto the pros, where he won’t have to wait long to hear his name called when the draft kicks off on April 25 in Green Bay.
