Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Insiders Don't See 'Natural Fit' for QB in FA After Jets Exit

There aren't expected to be many ideal landing spots for Aaron Rodgers following the quarterback's departure from the New York Jets, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

"People I've talked to around the league do not see a natural fit for Aaron Rodgers," Fowler said during a Friday appearance on SportsCenter (2:20 mark). "There just aren't a lot of teams that make sense for him."

The Jets previously revealed that they were moving on from Rodgers for the 2025 season, meeting with him and informing him of their decision.

The four-time MVP has also detailed what he's looking for in his next team.

"If they want you... If they've got a good team," Rodgers explained to TMZ Sports.

Fowler previously listed the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams as teams that could be searching for an experienced option under center during the offseason.

It's understandable that front offices may be hesitant to heavily pursue Rodgers, as he'll be 42 years old before the 2025 regular season comes to a close. He also missed almost all of his 2023 campaign due to a torn Achilles that he suffered on the Jets' opening drive of the season.

Rodgers returned in time for the beginning of New York's 2024 season and showed flashes of his former self, but he didn't look as sharp in the pocket compared to his 10-time Pro Bowl tenure with the Green Bay Packers.

In 17 starts last season, he completed 63 percent of his throws for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions. The Jets finished with a record of just 5-12.

As Rodgers prepares to experience a change of scenery, there doesn't appear to be an interested suitor that meets all of his requirements just yet.
