Derek Jeter is wondering what he could have looked like in pinstripes if he was allowed to grow a beard during his playing career.
The New York Yankees relaxed their rules on facial hair on Friday after 49 years with the team policy. Players previously were forbidden from rocking any facial hair beyond a mustache but the new policy will now allow for "well-groomed beards."
Following this change in policy, the Yankees legendary shortstop posted a photo on Instagram that had a photoshopped beard on his face in the Yankees uniform.

The Hall of Fame shortstop spent all 20 years of his MLB career with the Yankees. The ban on beards was active throughout his time with the franchise.
While Jeter wasn't able to sport a stylish beard for the Yankees, it is one of the few things he wasn't able to do during his illustrious career. He was a 14-time All-Star. five-time Silver Slugger, won five Gold Gloves and helped lead the franchise to five of its 27 World Championships. He retired with a .310 career batting average, 260 home runs and 3,465 total hits.
As Jeter prepares to watch the next generation of Yankees have less restrictions on style, he will now wonder what his portrait could have looked like with more freedom.
