Dodgers' Roki Sasaki Reveals He's Married in Instagram Post Ahead of 2025 MLB Season

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Rōki Sasaki is settling into his new life in the United States.

The 23-year-old phenom from Japan signed with the Dodgers in the offseason and is set to make his MLB debut this Spring. On top of that, he announced on Friday that he's newly married:

Sasaki expressed his excitement about the new chapter of his personal life.

“Thank you for your continued support," Sasaki wrote, as translated by Valentina Martinez of Los Angeles Dodgers on SI. "The other day I entered into the family with a common woman. A fresh start in public and private sector and I’m full of expectations and anxiety. We will work hard as a couple, so please keep a warm eye on us.” 

Sasaki was considered an international amateur free agent when he signed with the Dodgers, meaning that he will earn a rookie salary on top of a $6.5 million signing bonus in 2025.

Sasaki went 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA across 18 starts in NPB last season. He tossed 111 innings and recorded 129 strikeouts for Chiba Lotte.

He now will join a Dodgers rotation that already sports the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow as the Dodgers look to capture a second consecutive World Series title.
