Daniel Jeremiah: Cam Ward Has Same Predraft Grade as Bo Nix amid No. 1 Pick Buzz
Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network doesn't appear to be very high on the quarterback class ahead of the 2025 draft.
Jeremiah said Thursday he considers Miami star Cam Ward to be at the same level prospect-wise that Bo Nix was last year. He went on to compare Colorado's Shedeur Sanders to Atlanta Falcons rookie Michael Penix Jr.

Jeremiah isn't alone in viewing the incoming crop of QBs pretty critically. In January, The Athletic's Jeff Howe said "several executives and coaches" would put the Minnesota Vikings' J.J. McCarthy ahead of Ward and Sanders if he were in the 2025 class.
The Bleacher Report big boards from 2024 and 2025 are slightly more flattering. Ward and Sanders have overall grades of 8.3 and 8.0 so far, which would've ranked third and fourth, respectively, a year ago. Drake Maye (9.3) and Caleb Williams (9.2) were the top two on the board and followed by Jayden Daniels (7.6).
Jeremiah's assessment of Ward and Sanders points to the dilemma the front offices for the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants all face.
The three teams are in need of a new long-term solution at quarterback, but focusing solely on that position may not be the best value play with a top-three selection. Taking Penn State edge-rusher Abdul Carter, Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan or another non-QB prospect could be the way to go.
It's too early to say whether getting the 2025 version of Bo Nix is good or bad. He threw for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions as rookie and helped get the Denver Broncos to the playoffs. While Nix far exceeded everyone's expectations, his impressive first year could prove to be a false dawn in the same way Mac Jones making the Pro Bowl in 2021 was.
At the very least, Nix isn't yet the kind of quarterback you'd consider to be a can't-miss cornerstone for Denver.
If that's where Ward and Sanders reside, then neither could be a shoo-in for the Titans with the first pick.
