Mistakes WWE Must Avoid Making While Booking WrestleMania 41
As April approaches, WWE is gearing up for the most important premium live event of the year, WrestleMania 41. But there are several crucial errors the company must avoid to ensure it's a successful event.
From Cody Rhodes retaining his world title to Charlotte Flair returning to dethrone one of the brightest young stars in the business, Tiffany Stratton, several booking mistakes would sabotage WWE's biggest show.
Here are the mistakes WWE Creative must not make while booking WrestleMania 41.
Cody Rhodes Must Lose World Title
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finally finished his story and won the Undisputed WWE Championship, completing a lifelong goal of achieving something his legendary father never did in WWE.
Unfortunately, his title reign has been largely forgettable, and his storylines have played second fiddle to The Rock, Roman Reigns and many other Superstars.
At WrestleMania 41, Triple H and WWE Creative must take the belt off The American Nightmare.
If Rhodes is booked to win at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas come April 19-20, the main event will grow even more stale, with the WWE Universe losing faith in the champion and fans questioning the credibility of the company's undisputed title.
Rhodes is still a valuable asset to the company, but he's better off in the upper midcard while the world title is given to someone who can better carry it into a new age for WWE.
Charlotte Can't Beat Tiffany Stratton
As one of the most popular performers on the women's roster, Tiffany Stratton has morphed into a major asset for WWE since her jump from NXT.
As the reigning WWE women's champion, the 25-year-old is one of the faces of the next generation of talent.
The last thing WWE needs right now is to take a step backward, and that's exactly what would happen if Charlotte Flair beat the current champion.
The women's Royal Rumble winner can challenge Stratton, but she should put over the younger performer to guarantee her stardom.
There is no doubt Flair is one of the most talented performers in the entire company and has the mainstream clout to back it up, but she is already a 14-time women's world champion, while Stratton is currently on her first run with a main roster title.
It would be a massive mistake to book Flair over Stratton.
CM Punk Can't Main-Event
The WWE main roster is full of Superstars who deserve a chance to main-event Night 1 or 2 of WrestleMania 41, but CM Punk is not one of them.
After quitting on the company and working for the competition, the former world champion should be opening the show instead of closing it.
Punk instigated a physical altercation at his previous job and parlayed that into a high-priced contract with WWE, but Triple H and WWE Creative should not bend the knee to The Second City Saint.
Instead of fighting Rhodes in a multi-person match for a world title, Punk should be used to put over a younger performer the company believes in for the future, such as Carmelo Hayes, Oba Femi, Trick Williams or Penta.
