Myles Garrett Trade Rumors: Browns Still a 'Hard No' on Deal; Few Teams Have Called
The Cleveland Browns remain a "hard no" on trading Myles Garrett despite his trade request and inquiries from some teams, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
"The stance is still hard no. I checked on that this morning," Fowler said on Thursday afternoon's episode of SportsCenter. "They have no plans to trade him. That's been their sentiment since he made the trade request a few weeks ago.
"Teams are going to try, but I was actually told that not a lot of teams have inquired so far, in part because they know the answer is 'no' right now."

Buzz: Packers Wanted Chiefs' QB Pick
Garrett, who led the NFL with 22 tackles for loss last season, said in a statement shared on Feb. 3 by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that he had requested a trade because of his "desire to win and compete on the biggest stages."
After six Pro Bowl seasons and a 2023 Defensive Player of the Year campaign, there is likely no shortage of teams that want to add Garrett for the final two seasons of his current contract if he were available.
The lack of teams reportedly inquiring after Garrett indicates Browns general manager Andrew Berry has stuck by his original negative response to a potential trade.
Berry told Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot in January that he would turn down a potential offer of two first-rounders for Garrett.
"I think you can assume that we do anticipate at some point doing a third contract with Myles," Berry told Cabot. "We want him to retire here.”
After Garrett's trade request, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported those two first-round picks, plus additional compensation, would be the "baseline" for a Garrett trade.
It's not yet clear if Berry is seriously considering those potential offers. Although Detroit Lions star Aidan Hutchinson said in a recent appearance on The Squeeze podcast he and Garrett had discussed during the 2025 NFL Honors on Feb. 6 "what could be" if they teamed up together, the trade market for Garrett might not fully open up until the Browns publicly indicate some willingness to move him.
The pressure to trade Garrett could increase if the star decides to use a holdout as leverage in his pursuit of a trade. The Browns will have to see if they can smooth of their relationship with their star defender before offseason workout programs begin in April.
