LSU, Texas, UCLA, Vanderbilt Among 8 Schools Featured in MLB The Show 25 Video Game
MLB The Show is expanding its Road to the Show feature for players who want even more true-to-life detail from the video game.
MLB announced on Tuesday that MLB The Show 25 will feature eight colleges that players can send their created player to, including Vanderbilt, LSU, Texas, UCLA and TCU.
The feature allows those colleges to recruit your avatar coming out of high school, so if you don't like your initial draft position, you can go to college and improve your stock along the way to potentially become the No. 1 overall pick.
This marks the first time that official college teams have been part of MLB The Show. The inclusion of select colleges was teased when the gameplay trailer dropped on Feb. 4.
Ramone Russell of San Diego Studios, which develops the game, said the revamped Road to the Show will feature the ability to play two to three games in high school and three to four college games as part of the Amateur Years.
This marks the first time officially licensed college programs will be playable in a baseball video game since MVP 07: NCAA Baseball was released in February 2007.
MLB The Show 25 will be releasing on March 18 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Paul Skenes, Gunnar Henderson and Elly De La Cruz are the cover athletes for this year's game.
