Davante Adams Rumors: Jets WR 'Intrigued' by West Coast; Rams, Chargers, 49ers Linked

Zach BacharFeb 17, 2025

Davante Adams could target a move to the West Coast in 2025 free agency.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the New York Jets will "probably" release Adams in order to save "almost $30 million" in cap space, and he may be interested in several teams.

"He will have options, and I'm told that he is intrigued by the West Coast," Fowler said during an appearance on SportsCenter. "You have teams like the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, maybe San Francisco 49ers. He's from the West Coast, so it's a possibility he could end up there. Maybe the Packers want to run it back to him as well if they could involved there."

Adams opened the 2024 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he was acquired by the Jets in a trade on Oct. 15. The six-time Pro Bowl receiver couldn't help New York turn its season around, but he made individual improvements following the change of scenery.

He went from averaging 69.7 yards per game with the Raiders to 77.6 yards per game with the Jets, hauling in 67 receptions for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games with New York.

Over Adams' final five appearances, he caught 36 passes for 510 yards and five scores.

It's easy to see why the Rams and Chargers are potential options, as both teams are coming off playoff appearances during the 2024 season and are in need of wideout help.

The Chargers could add a complementary receiving threat alongside Ladd McConkey, while the Rams might target Adams amid Cooper Kupp's uncertain future.

Even though the 49ers missed the postseason for the first time since 2020 with a 6-11 record, they're expected to contend for a playoff spot in the NFC once again in 2025.

If the Jets cut ties with Adams, he appears to have several potential destinations on his mind.
