Raheem Mostert, Raiders Agree to 1-Year Contract After Dolphins Stint

Julia StumbaughMar 13, 2025

Raheem Mostert is reportedly heading to the Las Vegas Raiders two years after setting a Miami Dolphins franchise record for touchdowns in a single season.

Mostert agreed to a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Raiders on Thursday following his release by the Dolphins, he told NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.

Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz first reported the deal.

Mostert's agent, Brett Tessler, wrote Feb. 14 on social media that Mostert would "be playing elsewhere next season." The Dolphins announced Mostert's release later the same day.

Mostert's three seasons in Miami were highlighted by his first career Pro Bowl campaign in 2023, during which he led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns and tied for the lead with 21 total touchdowns.

Last season he took on a reduced role behind De'Von Achane, finishing the campaign with just two rushing touchdowns and 278 rushing yards in 13 games.

The Dolphins will now turn to Achane and Jaylen Wright going forward, while Mostert will slot into the lineup in Las Vegas.

Mostert joins a backfield currently staffed by Sincere McCormick and Zamir White. Given that he is turning 33 in April and looked noticeably slower during his final campaign with the Dolphins, he could continue serving in a backup role in 2025 even though the Raiders aren't loaded at the position.

After recording 85 carries and a career-low 3.3 yards per attempt last season, however, Mostert could still take on a bigger role if his new team gives him more looks at the ball.

Mostert joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He heads into his 11th pro season having recorded 3,791 rushing yards and 899 receiving yards for 42 total touchdowns in 103 games played.
