Before the Tampa Bay Rays call Steinbrenner Field home for the 2025 season, the New York Yankees' spring training facility got a facelift.
The Yankees revealed a handful of upgrades they have made to the stadium over the last two years, per The Athletic's Brendan Kuty and Chris Kirschner.
Some of the upgrades will make playing at Steinbrenner Field feel like a luxury, like a made-to-order kitchen with a full staff, a players lounge featuring games, TVs and couches, a team meeting space with a big screen projector and new showers and bathrooms.

Because looking your best means playing your best, the facility also features a barbershop.
Other upgrades ensure Steinbrenner Field will be ready for world-class athletes, such as a two-story weight room with an outdoor training space, hydrotherapy, red light therapy and saunas.
The new upgrades got the stamp of approval from Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole.
“Everything’s new,” he said. “The space is great. There’s tons of natural light. High ceilings. Good privacy. I think the flow is great … from the training room to the locker room, having those be right there alongside with the outside warm-up place.
“It feels good to have a really nice facility, and new players will come in or the word will get out and the Rays will enjoy this, I’ll tell you that.”
When Hurricane Milton tore through Florida in October, it destroyed the roof of Tampa Bay's Tropicana Field. The damages are not expected to be repaired until 2026, leaving the Rays with no choice but to find a different ballpark for the 2025 season.
The Yankees will use Steinbrenner Field for spring training while the Rays play at Charlotte Sports Park facility in Port Charlotte, Florida, for spring training. Once the season starts, Tampa Bay will transition to Steinbrenner Field for its home games.
Steinbrenner Field, which is in Tampa, is located about half an hour away from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The stadium, also home to the Yankees Single-A team, has a capacity of just over 11,026.
