Report: Zach Wilson, Dolphins Agree to Contract Worth Up to $10M After Broncos Stint
Zach Wilson reportedly has a new home in free agency.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wilson agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract with the Miami Dolphins. The deal can reportedly reach up to $10 million.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft spent the 2024 season with the Denver Broncos, although he didn't see any playing time as he sat behind Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham on Denver's quarterback depth chart.

The Broncos acquired Wilson and a seventh-round pick in an April 2024 trade with the New York Jets, sending out a sixth-round pick in return.
He hit free agency during this offseason after Denver previously declined the fifth-year option on his rookie contract.
The 25-year-old spent the first three years of his career in New York, but he struggled in a starting role. In 34 total appearances with the Jets, Wilson completed 57 percent of his throws for 6,293 yards and 23 touchdowns compared to 25 interceptions.
He was also sacked 113 times, finishing with a record of 12-21 in 33 starts.
A change of scenery could benefit Wilson, as he showed promise in Denver during the preseason. In three games prior to the start of the 2024 regular season, he finished 28-of-44 for 397 yards and three touchdowns without getting picked off. Wilson rushed for 21 yards on five attempts.
His former teammates in Denver believe that he still has a bright future in the league, as wide receiver David Sills complimented the signal-caller after the two spent most of the year on the practice squad together.
"He's got all the attributes you want in a quarterback," Sills said, per Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. "I think you see that's just getting in the right situation. I think he's going to be a great player for a long time in this league."
Wilson will be expected to continue to serve as a depth option behind Tua Tagovailoa in Miami during the 2025 season. The Dolphins compiled an 8-9 record in 2024, finishing second in the AFC East.
