NFL Exec: Jayden Daniels 'Covers Up a Lot of Stink' on Commanders Roster
Jayden Daniels had quite the debut season with the Washington Commanders, winning the league's Offensive Rookie of the Year award while leading the team to the NFC Championship Game.
And he did it without the benefit of a terribly talented roster around him.
"Because of the skill set [Daniels] has, he covers up a lot of stink," an NFL executive told ESPN's John Keim. "The offensive line is not good. It shows the league what can happen when you have that guy."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
This offseason is an important one in Washington. The team has $80.5 million in cap space and needs to upgrade the offensive line, add more weapons for Daniels and solidify a defense that was torched by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game (though the team's four turnovers didn't make the defense's life any easier).
Some of those potential upgrades can come in the draft. But because Daniels is on a rookie deal, the Commanders also have the financial flexibility to be aggressive in free agency this offseason. It's a good place to be for a team that has already exceeded all expectations in 2024.
