Bueckers is in the midst of another incredibly efficient season for a UConn team that is undefeated in Big East play (13-0). She’s averaging 18.8 points on 53.1 percent shooting (41.5 percent from three), along with 4.4 assists per game in 23 starts.
There’s no shortage of competition for the award, led by UCLA superstar Lauren Betts. The junior center is averaging career-highs in scoring average (19.6), rebounds (9.7), assists (2.9) and blocks (2.9) for a Bruins team that is the only remaining undefeated team in Division I (23-0), including a dominant 77-62 win over South Carolina on Nov. 24.
Sophomore Hannah Hidalgo has Notre Dame ranked second in the AP Top 25 poll. She ranks second in the nation in scoring average (25.9) and is tied for the Division I lead in steals per game (4.0).
USC standout JuJu Watkins is one of 10 players in the country averaging at least 20 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
There are just over two weeks remaining in the regular season before conference tournaments begin across the country, followed by the start of the 2025 NCAA tournament on March 21.
