CJGJ: Jalen Hurts at 'Top' of NFL QB Hierarchy After Eagles' Super Bowl 59 Win
Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson believes it's time to consider Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts as the best quarterback in football.
"You gotta put him at the top," he said on Tuesday's SportsCenter (4:30 mark). "I mean the guy overcame so much. Why wouldn't you? I mean we hear about the Joe Burrows, you hear about the Lamar Jacksons, the Josh Allens. Great quarterbacks. Phenomenal quarterbacks. But... this league's about winning. Championships and production. Time and time again he's proven people wrong."

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Because the Eagles reworked their offensive philosophy during the 2024 season to heavily feature superstar running back Saquon Barkley behind the team's elite offensive line, there were questions about whether Hurts and the passing game was good enough to lead the team to a title if the run game was slowed.
But the Kansas City Chiefs sold out to stop the run in the Super Bowl, limiting Barkley to just 57 rushing yards. Hurts responded by throwing for 221 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, routinely looking poised against Kansas City's exotic blitzes. That included being a major threat as a runner himself, rushing for 72 yards and a score.
Hurts may never put up the gaudy passing numbers of other top quarterbacks around football, but he's proven in the past several years that his dual-threat abilities and poise in big games is a winning formula. In the process, he's clearly earned the respect and belief of his teammates.
