Cam Ward Tops Shedeur Sanders as 2025 NFL Draft's Top QB in Poll of Scouts
Some NFL scouts are leaning toward former Miami quarterback Cam Ward as the top signal-caller in the 2025 NFL draft.
Four out of six NFL scouts polled by CBS Sports ranked Ward as the top quarterback in the class of 2025, according to Matt Zenitz.
The remaining two scouts named Colorado's Shedeur Sanders as the top option in the draft, per Zenitz.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Five scouts ranked former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart as the third-best option behind Ward and Sanders, while one scout tabbed Alabama product Jalen Milroe as the No. 3 quarterback in the draft.
Scouts could get another look at the incoming quarterback class in two weeks when the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine begins on Feb. 27 in Indianapolis.
Scouts seem united in believing the quarterback depth of the 2025 draft is shallower than the event's 2024 counterpart.
Six signal callers went among the top 12 picks of the 2024 draft. Five of those players earned starts during their rookie seasons, and the class could have gone six-for-six if it hadn't been for J.J. McCarthy's season-ending injury. That doesn't seem likely to be the case in 2025.
The quarterback needs of the teams selecting first in the upcoming draft could still push multiple signal callers to the top of the draft— but it all hinges on what the Tennessee Titans do with the No. 1 pick.
The Titans have said they plan to bring in competition for Will Levis' QB1 job, but the team could theoretically find that competition in free agency. ESPN's Dan Graziano recently reported the Titans could target Sam Darnold or Justin Fields this spring.
Titans president of football ops Chad Brinker said last month the Titans "won't pass on a generational talent with the first pick," but it is not yet clear if the team holds any available quarterback in such high regard.
The next two picks are held by the Cleveland Browns, who will be without Deshaun Watson after his second ACL tear, and New York Giants, who parted ways with Daniel Jones last season. Both teams will need to wait for the Titan's decision before potentially adding a much-needed quarterback.
Outside of the top three signal callers, the NFL scouts polled by CBS Sports named Milroe and Dart as well as Texas' Quinn Ewers, Syracuse's Kyle McCord and Louisville's Tyler Shough as the fourth-best quarterback available in the upcoming draft.
