Jason Kelce Says It Was 'Odd' Watching Eagles Beat Travis, Chiefs in Super Bowl
Former Philadelphia Eagles star center Jason Kelce explained his conflicting emotions as his former team beat his younger brother, Travis, in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday night.
"That game was odd for me to watch if Iโm being completely honest," he said on X. "I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago. On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career."

Kelce went on to say he was "very proud for Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and this entire team." He said the Eagles "have persevered greatly, answered their critics amazingly, and proved themselves to be undoubtedly the best team this season."
On Travis, Kelce wrote that "it has been tough to process these feelings" but that he knows his brother "does not need, nor want my pity." He added that the heartbreak and disappointment the Chiefs players are experiencing will subside, and their two straight titles and run of three in five years will be celebrated in their proper context.
The Kelce brothers famously went head to head in Super Bowl LVII. Travis got the better of Jason on that night as a 27-yard field goal by Harrison Butker in the final seconds lifted the Chiefs to a 38-35 win over the Eagles.
On this occasion, the battle lines were far more blurred for Jason. Leading up to the game, he told Travis on an episode of their New Heights podcast he couldn't bring himself to wear any Chiefs gear, even for a customized half-and-half jersey like the one their mother wore for Super Bowl LVII.
Ahead of kickoff, he said on ESPN (via Kevin Manahan of NJ Advance Media) that he was "going to be extremely happy for one of these teams tonight and for some of these guys, and on the other side, Iโm going to be absolutely devastated."
Based on Tuesday's post, it sounds like that proved to be the case.
