Phillies Get Hosed In Houston and We Were There
Yes, lucky us...we were in Houston. Had I been able to use the slide show here you might have seen the game for all it is not worth. I should be blogging about my fantasy football picks and my Vick protest on Sunday, but this is just a way better story.
The Phillies were just rude to their fans and looked tense - other than J A Happ who was signing stuff for the kids. I was weird sitting 2 rows behind the dug out (seats impossible to afford in Philly) and finding the guys not looking up- or cracking a smile. Maybe they were tired but seriously, other than a big schlub who had a check list of people he wanted to sign, they did nothing for anyone. At the game, maybe 100 Phillies fans so at least smile? The schlub got a few signatures and he was not a Phillies fan - wearing Astros stuff and he crowded out the little kids.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
On the positive side - Jeff caught his first foul ball - and the dude in front of us hit his hand and it landed in the dug out - the guys did not even throw it back. At the end the new guy - up from the Pigs- was walking towards me so I tossed him my Astros ball on a dare by some real nice Texas fans..I threw him my 2 finger with a spin best ball - which he caught - gave me a dirty look and threw at me, which I caught! So weird really!
Post game was a hoot - Astros are really into their fans and their kids were on the field (they also sign anything for fans). The there was the Kalache eating contest, won by Joey Chestnut. He ate 45 sausages wrapped in sweet pastry and I wanted to barf my Texas BBQ. This is why kids need an education...imagine having to eat crap for a living at a ball park! He only made $4,500 for his indigestion. Then the retractable roof was pulled back and fireworks! YAY
So, the sports are beneficial when dealing with serious illness, even if the players are less than nice. Texas fans are gracious and we Philly people were good guests ( take that Mets fans). Hopefully I will score Texans tickets for the next trip to MD Anderson.
