Report: Mike Williams Agrees to $6M Chargers Contract after Jets, Steelers Stints
After splitting his time between the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers last season, Mike Williams will suit up for his former team in 2025.
Per Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz, Williams agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Los Angeles Chargers. Williams was with the Chargers from 2017 to 2023.
Williams has had a pair of forgettable campaigns caused by injuries and a lack of consistency. He had an outstanding start to the 2023 season in Los Angeles, recording 249 yards and a touchdown through three games, but had his season ended prematurely by a torn ACL.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Following the injury-shortened season, Williams signed a one-year deal with the Jets, though New York proved to be the wrong fit for him. In nine games, he had just 12 receptions for 166 yards, never clicking with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
He was traded to the Steelers for a fifth-round draft pick in November ahead of the deadline, but also never panned out in Pittsburgh. He recorded just nine receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown in nine games.
While the past few campaigns haven't gone Williams' way, he is still just a few years removed from some of the best seasons of his career. In 2019, Williams hauled in 49 receptions for 1,001 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He had a career year in 2021, picking up 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns on 76 receptions.
The best years of Williams' career came in Los Angeles, and he'll look to find more success in his second stint with the Chargers.
