"Jason and Todd's excellent leadership and vision have been critical to our organizational success, and the winning culture they have established has us well positioned into the future," said Buccaneers Owner/Co-Chairman Joel Glazer, per Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com. "Jason has evolved into one of the top talent evaluators and general managers in the NFL, while Todd has led us to three consecutive division titles and is one of the league's leading defensive minds. Under their guidance, we will continue building towards another championship."
Licht previously extended his contract in June 2021 coming off the Bucs' victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55. Bowles was entering the fourth year of a five-year deal that was signed in March 2022 when he replaced Bruce Arians.
"I am very grateful to the Glazer Family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here," said Licht, per Smith. "Their commitment to providing the resources along with their dedication to fostering a winning culture throughout our entire building are the primary reasons for the great success we have enjoyed these past five seasons. I am also very excited to continue working alongside Todd well into the future as we continue our mission of finding and developing talented players and chasing additional championships for our great fans."
After going 5-11 and finishing last in the NFC South in 2017, the Bucs followed that up with a 5-11 mark in 2018. Licht hired Arians as the team's new head coach during the offseason, and Tampa rebounded to the tune of a 7-9 record in 2019.
When Licht took over as GM in 2014 following the departure of Mark Dominik, the organization had gone six straight years without a playoff appearance. It took a few years for him to build up the talent level through the draft, but they've had one of the best rosters in the NFL over the past five years.
The Bucs bottomed out at 2-14 in 2014, but it allowed the 54-year-old to start his building-up process. Mike Evans, Tristan Wirfs, Chris Godwin, Antoine Winfield Jr., Vita Vea and Devin White are among the notable players drafted by Tampa Bay during his tenure as general manager.
Tampa is currently amid a five-year streak of making the playoffs, the longest stretch in franchise history. The Buccaneers also have the sixth-most wins in the NFL since 2020.
Bowles has worked for the Bucs since 2019 when he joined Arians' staff as defensive coordinator. He was promoted to head coach in March 2022 after Arians stepped down to move into a consulting role.
"I am extremely appreciative of the confidence that the Glazer Family has shown in my abilities to lead this football team. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly and am honored to have," said Bowles, per Smith. "It starts at the top, and their unwavering commitment to our organization allows us to perform at our best and compete for championships. I am equally excited to continue working with Jason for years to come as we build on the success we've enjoyed and keep reaching for even bigger and better goals."
In three seasons under Bowles, the Buccaneers have a 27-24 record with three NFC South titles. They advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs in the 2023 season.
