Allsports and the Phoenix Fiasco Part? Whatever

Walt WebbSep 8, 2009

So they are really getting their moneys worth for sports news with the Phoenix Fiasco, with a lot of content for sports on the web. Jim Balsillie is still alive in the bankruptcy battle for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Bettman and Balsillie should just kiss and make up. Maybe even get a room. Old Gary says it’s nothing personal but that’s B.S. Whats he supposed to say. Jim Balsillie is making me look a bit like a spoiled child so I hate him and he cannot come in my little club house.

Problem Gary, Judge Baum is supposed to find the best deal possible for the share holders of the Coyotes, that’s his job right now, end of story.

Well guess what, Jim Balsillie’s bid is the best one out there by far for the shareholders of the Coyotes. So what’s a skinny little New York Lawyer to do.

Let the bid from Balsillie win, then make the transfer fees so astronomical that he can’t afford to move the team. This would not do Mr. Bettman much good in the way of good PR to be sure. He would look even more the spoiled child, taking his marbles and going home.

Now what has to be done is some common ground has to be found for each party. Did Balsillie step on some toes for what can be seen as a hostile blind side by Mr. Bettman and company. Yes it was but get over it, business is business and the franchise is a dying Quail in Phoenix.

So get to the table and work things out. The NHL can use Balsillie and his resources. You sure can’t argue with his enthusiasm.or passion for the game either.

As of today as well Balsillie is making it even harder for Judge Baum to refuse his bid. He sweetened the pot by another 30 million to make his offer stand at 242.5 million. That’s better than 100 million more than the NHL’s 140 million offer.

So if your Judge Baum, which offer do you take? I know which one the shareholders want. So suck it up Gary, Jim Balsillie is not going anywhere soon. So make peace, slap his wrist for not following protocol and get on with business.
