WWE Battleground 2015: How to Fix Least Promising Storylines so Far
The 2015 edition of WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view is the final big event before SummerSlam, and the excitement heading into the summer blockbuster should be through the roof.
Unfortunately, it’s not.
With Sheamus and Randy Orton on yet another collision course that will result in a PPV match and Nikki Bella’s reign of terror still going unchecked, there are serious concerns about lackluster storylines heading into July.

Here are the solutions to fixing the least promising angles heading into Battleground on July 19.
Sheamus vs. Randy Orton
When Sheamus and Orton fought twice before Money in the Bank, the WWE Universe was hopeful that it was typical even-steven booking and both men would move away from each other before this became a feud.
Instead, this is the same tired battle once again.
The best way to save this angle would be interjecting Dean Ambrose into the mix. Not only would it spare the fans from another Kane vs. Ambrose match, but it would also give hardcore fans something to change up the monotony of Sheamus vs. Orton.
Ambrose proved he deserves to be in the main event scene in his matches against Seth Rollins, and with Sheamus holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, adding the fan favorite to a boring singles match would be best for business.
Nikki Bella vs. Anyone

One of the most frustrating aspects of being a wrestling fan is watching the success of the women’s division in NXT and then watching Nikki Bella help drive the division into the ground week after week.
The best way to save the division would be to feed Nikki yet another challenger she can beat at Battleground—Naomi would be a worthy opponent—only to have Paige lead a group of women through the crowd and beat down The Bella Twins.
Just as The Shield caused chaos in the WWE, Paige, Charlotte and another woman (maybe Natalya or Sasha Banks) could set the new tone for the division before eventually taking the Divas Championship and rebranding it as the WWE Women’s Championship.
The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day
Arguably the biggest shock of the Money in the Bank PPV was The Prime Time Players pinning The New Day and walking out as the new tag team champions. Few fans saw this title change coming.
The New Day have been genuinely entertaining in the ring and on the mic, but The Prime Time Players have held their own. If WWE officials want to sell this match, they should add a hardcore element and take away some of the light-hearted storytelling.
All of the combatants in the match have an entertaining serious side, and letting all five men use the environment and even weapons would allow them to add a serious edge and thrill the more hardcore fans.
The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day should also meet for a third match at SummerSlam.
