UFC Fight Night 69 Results: The Real Winners and Losers
The UFC's return to Germany came with much buzz on Saturday, as UFC Fight Night 69 promised to be an exciting one. Boy, it did not disappoint.
Headlined by UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and challenger Jessica Penne, the card was action-packed and full of finishes. In fact, out of 11 fights, eight were finishes by either knockout or submission.
When talking about winners, those who watched or attended the event should be considered winners. They were treated to a fun series of bouts and got to see a fancy display of violence.
However, who were the real winners and losers from the fight card? Let's examine that now.
Winner: Joanna Jedrzejczyk
1 of 5
The biggest winner of the night had to be the reigning UFC strawweight champion. She dominated her fight against Jessica Penne, never finding herself in real trouble and making things look criminally easy.
Jedrzejczyk is not only a beast in the cage, but she's also a charismatic figure outside of it. She is going to draw the attention of many with her display of dominant muay thai striking and charming mic time, which shows she's now a very valuable commodity to the UFC.
She may not have actually finished Penne in theory, but the beating she handed out completely justified the stoppage made by referee Marc Goddard. Penne was cut, bruised, beaten up and not doing enough to keep going.
That's how dominant Jedrzejczyk looked. She didn't even look like she was in a fight.
Loser: Dennis Siver

Dennis Siver has really fallen down the ladder, folks.
Rebounding from a one-sided butt kicking at the hands of superstar Conor McGregor, Siver had an opportunity to rebound in front of his home crowd. It was a chance to prove he is still at the top of the division.
That wouldn't happen Saturday night.
Showing promise early, Siver began to give up takedowns against Tatsuya Kawajiri and struggled to get back to his feet, the place he held an advantage. The judges were called after three rounds, and Siver found himself on the wrong end of a decision.
Siver is in a stall right now. He can't push his name to contention, despite his ability to win most fights against anybody outside the top 15. That's not the type of guy the UFC can afford to keep around, especially with this new Reebok deal.
For Siver, keeping his spot on the roster is the only way he wins in the aftermath of UFC Berlin.
Winner: Nick Hein

In sports and entertainment, it's important to utilize mic time when you get it. Plus, getting wins never hurts your stock, especially when it's in dominant fashion.
Nick Hein did both of those things Saturday night.
Hein took on Lukasz Sajewski, a Polish prospect with a good deal of hype behind him. He didn't even let him get started, dominating all 15 minutes of their one-sided affair.
Hein then showed off his personality on the mic, eliciting cheers and praise from all who witnessed. It's something that will help his star power in not only Europe but also anywhere he prefers to throw down.
He is now 2-1 in the UFC. If he continues to improve at the pace he has been lately, he will be a legit name to look out for in the lightweight division.
Loser: Niklas Backstrom
4 of 5
Niklas Backstrom proved two things Saturday night.
The first thing he proved is that his ground game is very good and exciting. The second thing is that his gas tank does not match up with his grappling ability.
Backstrom completely dominated the ground war in the first round of his bout with Noad Lahat on Saturday. He used his technique to get off his back, gain top position and threaten submissions left and right.
The second and third round were a different story.
Backstrom was completely exhausted, got handled on the feet and even struggled to show a glimpse of the technique he showed in the first round when the fight hit the mat. That led to him being on the wrong end of a majority decision, taking him to his current two-fight skid.
He, like Siver, would settle on keeping his roster spot. That's the only way he wins after Saturday.
Winner: Makwan Amirkhani
5 of 5
The UFC may have one of the most entertaining midcarders in all of MMA on their roster in Makwan Amirkhani.
I don't think he will ever be a title contender. He has yet to prove it, since both his fights with the UFC have been against low-end talent.
However, he is charismatic and exciting. He finishes fights, does it fast and charms us all when mic time is given to him.
That's why he will earn some good money. He doesn't have to be the most skilled guy in the world, but if he can partake in exciting affairs and enthrall fans with his personality, he will be a staple of the featherweight midcard for a long time.
