Best Booking Options for Dean Ambrose at WWE Battleground 2015

Donald WoodJun 18, 2015

After fighting Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on back-to-back pay-per-views, there are many questions about what’s next for Dean Ambrose at the 2015 edition of Battleground.

Ambrose and Rollins put on great matches at Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank, but the WWE Universe is concerned that the ultra-talented wrestler will end up cast aside like he was last year around Survivor Series.

Here are the best booking options for Ambrose at WWE’s Battleground 2015.

Ambrose Squares off Against Kane

While returning to the world title scene would be ideal, Brock Lesnar is the No. 1 contender and Ambrose has been pushed aside. As much as it will anger some fans, all signs from Raw point to a possible match between Kane and Ambrose.

Kane has been teasing a face turn for months, and a promo segment with Ambrose beat that point into the ground. With Ambrose not having any clear feud right now, having him be the conduit for the return of masked Kane would be an interesting storyline.

Ambrose deserves better than being placed in a feud with Kane, but he could make something out of this angle by stealing the show on the mic and in the ring. The hope is that the two men are given some time to shine and tell a convincing story in the ring.

Both men have the skill to make this angle interesting, but the WWE Universe must be open to it.

WWE Adds Ambrose to Sheamus-Randy Orton Feud

Sheamus is one of the most talented big men in the WWE today, and his return as a heel hasn’t been terrible. Randy Orton is also incredibly talented, but both men are stale in the minds of wrestling fans.

Instead of letting the two men go to battle once again, adding Ambrose to the storyline after his run-in with Sheamus on Raw could add an element of surprise that would help the WWE Universe accept this storyline.

Week after week, Ambrose is getting some of the biggest cheers. When booked to look like the second coming of Stone Cold Steve Austin, there are few men in the sport as talented as Ambrose, but he needs something to do while waiting for another shot at the title.

The in-ring work between Sheamus, Orton and Ambrose would be incredible, and with the possibility of putting the Money in the Bank briefcase on the line, this could be a marquee storyline for the Lunatic Fringe.
