Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins and the Best Matchups for WWE Battleground
Brock Lesnar versus Seth Rollins is the long-awaited match that fans have been anticipating since WrestleMania 31. The Beast Incarnate recently returned to the fold as the new top contender for Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and now it's off to Battleground for the two Superstars.
Roman Reigns versus Bray Wyatt has also been booked, and the seeds for that match were planted at Money in the Bank. Reigns will surely be looking for vengeance against Wyatt, who ruined his chances of winning the briefcase and has since made it a personal issue.
As with any other WWE event, one big night usually leads to another, and that is what we're seeing for the rest of the Battleground card. Money in the Bank has laid the groundwork for what's to come on July 19, and fans should see other matches coming together over the next several weeks.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
There may not be many surprises ahead, but the bouts most likely to occur are solid. Battleground may be one of the strongest cards WWE has presented thus far this year.
Ryback vs. Big Show vs. The Miz

This potential showdown must happen sooner or later. The heat between Ryback, Big Show and The Miz is reaching a boiling point, and the only real course of action here is for all three men to settle their differences in the same ring together.
This one may not seem like a marquee matchup, but it will ultimately be good for Ryback. The WWE Intercontinental champion has really come into his own now and is finally getting over with the WWE audience. The key for keeping him over is to book him in short matches that can highlight his strengths and allow him to play the power game as only he can.
This may be a bit difficult, as a Triple Threat match will likely take more time than he needs to be in the ring. But he does not have to perform during every moment of the match and can choose his spots when to strike.
The showdown between him and Show should be hard-hitting, and Miz will provide the comic relief for the bout, so there should be a little something for everyone. Now that The Big Guy is on track, he needs good showings at monthly events to solidify his championship run, and this contest should be a great example of that.
Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus

When Sheamus pulled down the briefcase at Money in the Bank, many fans were likely shocked. Many believed Reigns to be the favorite, followed by Dolph Ziggler. But when The Celtic Warrior emerged as the winner, it was obvious that WWE had other plans in mind.
A heel as Mr. Money in the Bank is an interesting proposition when a heel is holding the championship. Two antagonists in the ring is a hard sell for many fans who want to see the traditional heel versus babyface contest. That is where Dean Ambrose comes in.
Ambrose is not finished with Rollins. Their heat is as timeless as The Rock and Stone Cold; it will always be there and will always be a booking choice despite what card needs them. The two are gold when they work, and The Lunatic Fringe is more motivated than ever because he wants the title.
Sheamus is in his way, however, and that means war is inevitable. Ambrose cannot be intimidated and is always up for a fight, so this match should be a good one from start to finish. Add to that the possibility Ambrose could challenge Sheamus to put his title shot on the line, and fan interest will surely multiply overnight.
The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day

The New Day pulled off an incredible turnaround when it went from being a weak gimmick no one cared about to being one of the hottest heel acts in WWE. That is thanks in large part to the efforts as a team and the meshing of personalities together in front of the live crowds.
Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are getting over, and fans love to hate them. The New Day is a success story, but it's not the only one. The Prime Time Players defeated the stable for the WWE tag team championships at Money in the Bank, and now a potential new rivalry is beginning.
Both teams have a lot to gain by feuding for the belts. Titus O'Neil and Darren Young need some time with the titles to grow as performers and establish themselves as solid champions. They are a good team that could become a great team, and the championships are a big part of that.
The New Day is flourishing without the belts, but with them, the unit has more bragging rights and more of a presence on WWE programming. This rivalry has the potential to last a good number of weeks, with perhaps more title changes before it's over.
John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

There has perhaps been no other Superstar since Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle to make an impact on WWE this quickly than Kevin Owens. The NXT champion has come in like the Terminator, with a vicious killer instinct and a heartless execution.
Owens' first target of course has been John Cena, who appears to be rocked back on his heels due to the challenge before him. Owens is a much different animal than any other man that's stepped up to Cena. Owens has full confidence in his ability and an unsettling character that fans want to see and respect for making it as far as he has in the company.
However, Owens lost to Cena at Money in the Bank, and now the series is tied with one win each. Owens is not finished with Cena and wants him in the ring again, and when that happens, the United States title will surely be on the line.
This potential third match could wrap up what would likely be considered one of the most entertaining and intense trilogies since Ric Flair versus Ricky Steamboat back in 1989. Like those three bouts, these three could be talked about for years to come. Cena has been through his share of big matches, but for Owens, this trio of battles could be career-defining for him.
Battleground would benefit from this match, and so would the fans, who would ultimately be the real winners in the end.
