There was a stretch where WWE was producing a pay-per-view every two weeks, but the company is finally back to a normal build to a show as it has five weeks to prepare for the 2015 edition of Battleground.

With Brock Lesnar making his triumphant return to WWE programming to take down Seth Rollins and a marquee secondary storyline between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, the once-forgettable Battleground show is now must-see PPV.

Here are the most intriguing storylines to track on the road to WWE Battleground 2015.

Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins

Every time Brock Lesnar’s music hits, wrestling fans are treated to one of the most awe-inspiring athletes to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. Add in the fact that he is targeting the heel champion, and Battleground’s main event will be amazing.

Lesnar has a legitimate beef with Rollins due to the Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania that cost him a championship, but it goes back even farther, as Rollins curb-stomped Lesnar several months before that as well.

An angry Lesnar fighting for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is best for business.

The WWE Universe is ready for the next several weeks of build to the Battleground match due to the promos and storyline development from Lesnar, Rollins, Paul Heyman, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and the rest of The Authority. On the mic, this feud will be unbeatable.

In the ring, Lesnar and Rollins will tear the house down.

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt

The majority of the WWE Universe believed Roman Reigns was destined to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, but a swerve led to Bray Wyatt infusing himself into the outcome and costing the hand-chosen star the victory.

After a haunting promo on Raw and the suggestion of the involvement of Reigns’ young daughter in the storyline, any fan who was not intrigued at first is now hooked into the battle.

The biggest complaint about Reigns is his lack of skill on the mic and his weaknesses in the ring. With a foe who can carry the feud on the mic like he did with The Undertaker, Reigns will be allowed to keep his promos short and impactful.

In the ring, the two younger Superstars will continue looking to prove themselves worthy of a main event push, and that should drive them to put on show-stealing matches. If both men view this as a marquee opportunity, this has the potential to be the feud of the year.

Paige’s Continued Struggles Against Other Divas

One of the most interesting storylines leading into Battleground is the slow burn surrounding Paige and her possible need to bring in backup against the rest of the Divas division.

Nikki Bella has been champion for over 200 days, and no one has been able to stop her thanks to the help of her twin sister, Brie. The hope from the WWE Universe is that Paige needs a helping hand and calls on the NXT women’s wrestlers.

Whether it’s just Charlotte who makes her permanent main-roster debut or Paige building a Shield-type stable using women’s stars from NXT, the possibility of several call-ups in a stagnant Divas division is something most fans are hoping will come to fruition.
