Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The Women
Former women's champion Charlotte will take on one of the newest recruits this week when she faces KC.
This might seem like a squash since KC is so new and Charlotte is so established, but you never know. WWE has taken risks by pushing young talents before, and this could be one of those times.
Anyone who could come in and beat one of the top stars in the division would have a big boost right out of the gate, and with the likelihood that one or two women will receive call-ups soon, it would make sense to start building new stars.
It will be interesting to see how KC performs. Even if she ends up losing, putting on a good match with the daughter of The Nature Boy would get her off to a great start.
The Tag Teams
Alexa Bliss shocked a lot of people by turning heel and aligning herself with Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy at TakeOver: Unstoppable.
Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady and Carmella will have a chance for revenge when they face their rivals in a six-person tag match.
Bliss and Carmela have been struggling to find an identity in the women's division, so this is the perfect opportunity for them to find success outside the title chase.
Blake and Murphy are talented, but Amore and Cassady are a much more entertaining act. If The Realest Guys in the Room can pick up a win here, it could open the door for another title shot down the line.
The second tag tam match will feature The Vaudevillains battling Jason Jordan and newcomer Kaze. Based on the participants, it should be pretty obvious who is going to win.
Aiden English and Simon Gotch are finally starting to become relevant again, but easy wins over a team with no momentum won't help them much.
if Kaze and Jordan are able to pull off the upset, it could be a sign that this is more than just a random pairing. With The Ascension and Lucha Dragons out of the picture, the tag team division in NXT needs to be replenished.
As with any new team, they need time to build chemistry and accumulate fans. A win over one of the last established teams in the division would definitely put them on track for future success.
The Men
The only singles match scheduled to take place is a big one. After weeks of anticipation, Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens will finally step into the ring to do battle.
Joe made a huge impact when he debuted at Unstoppable, but don't expect him to win just because he had a lot of press upon his arrival.
Owens has proved himself to be a formidable opponent for anyone in the company, including its perceived top star.
"Kevin Owens Week continues tonight as I battle (wreck) Samoa Joe on @WWENXT. Also, keep an eye on http://t.co/wS5I1sLRaT this afternoon…
— Kevin Owens (@FightOwensFight) June 17, 2015"
Joe and Owens have history outside WWE, and while it's unlikely that specific promotions or matches will be mentioned by commentators, the two probably won't be portrayed as first-time opponents.
A victory in this match would put Joe on track for a future title shot. Owens is already part of the main roster, so a contender needs to emerge who can win the belt and represent the brand.
Owens is fresh off a loss to John Cena at Money in the Bank, so he needs the win just as much as Joe. It's an important match, but more importantly, it should be extremely entertaining.
