Neville Talks Money in the Bank, Owens-Cena and More in Exclusive Interview
Neville just might be a superhero.
The spectacular rookie (in WWE years) spoke with me during the latest PodNasty Wrestling Podcast as he prepares for his first WWE Money in the Bank match.
Despite his 5'10" frame, Neville's impressive physique and show-stopping aerial moves are quickly establishing him as one of wrestling's fastest-rising stars.

Neville's finisher, the Red Arrow, is difficult to believe and is unique from anything else on the current roster. It even has an origin story.
"The Red Arrows are the acrobatic division of the Royal Air Force in England," Neville said as he described his finisher.
"I remember as a kid we would go and watch the Red Arrows, and I thought it was similar to British wrestlers and the acrobatic division. I thought it was one of those cool little nods to my background."
But Neville's superstardom is not built around his finisher. It serves as the icing on a very acrobatic cake.
On the HBO special Talking Funny, comedian Louis C.K. revealed that he starts every show with his strongest bit in order to push himself to be equally as funny throughout his act.
This seems to be the motivation with Neville, as each of his high-flying moves are just as exciting as the Red Arrow. Neville's matches are enhanced only by good opponents. With so many potential long-term feuds in his young WWE career, Neville could be in store for an impressive resume of rivalries.
"I'd love to, at some point, mix it up with Cesaro," Neville said.
"Cesaro's a guy I've wrestled a few times in NXT and a guy who I've known for a long time. I feel like we certainly bring out the best in each other.
"Daniel Bryan is a guy I'd like to mix it up with at some point—Tyson Kidd, Kevin Owens. You know, we have a lot of history in NXT, and he's another guy I've known for a long time, so there's so many different options."
As for who will win the latest installment of the Kevin Owens-John Cena feud?
"I think if I had to choose, I'd go with John this time because I know Kevin got one over on him last time."
Neville is at the right place at the right time for what he brings to wrestling. Hardcore wrestling fans feel just as connected to him as the adolescent Cena contingent. To this day, his presence evokes chants of "NXT" as he still represents the cool alternative.
He's a fun-sized combatant to some and an independent wrestling darling to others.
WWE would kill for Money in the Bank favorite Roman Reigns to come with that type of universal appeal. Despite his fast success, Neville is still being overlooked in the Money in the Bank match.
"I'm not surprised that I could be [classified] as the underdog. I think I am the underdog," Neville said.
"I'm just looking for the opportunity to further my brand and do something for myself. I'm in this match...[and] it suits me better, so I'm looking to make a big statement."
Based on his strong booking since his debut, Neville shouldn't be seen as too much of a surprise to win. His athletic abilities will certainly enhance the ladder match, but they could also help him win it.
Fittingly, this overachieving underdog was the subject of rumors from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc) linking him to a Mighty Mouse gimmick.
"There's no truth in [the Mighty Mouse rumors], actually," Neville said.
"I guess I was just more surprised than anything. Sometimes you get the wildest things just pop up, and that was one of those things that it was funny at the time, I guess."
Maybe it's a good think Neville is already dealing with rumors as his career takes off. His in-ring ability seems subhuman, so his ongoing journey should be no different. It all comes with the territory. It's no wonder he wears a cape.
