WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from June 10

Erik BeastonJun 11, 2015

To say expectations were high for Samoa Joe when he finally signed on the dotted line to become a WWE Superstar for the first time in his career would be an understatement. And to say that fans have a reason to be unimpressed with the former Ring of Honor and TNA world champion thus far would be spot on.

He made his in-ring NXT debut on Thursday night. With only three minutes to perform, he failed to leave a lasting impression, making him the night's biggest loser.

And that is through very little fault of his own.

Management has not exactly gone out of its way to create the kind of aura around Joe that would lead the casual fan to believe he is anything special, let alone a Samoan butt-kicker who has put down some of the biggest name the industry has seen over the last decade.

Instead, he very much comes across as some guy who wants to challenge Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship, and that suits neither him nor the overall product.

Joe needs a shot of adrenaline, and with a non-title match against Owens slated for the next episode, perhaps he will get it then and earn his spot on the winners' list.

On an episode that was more about squash matches designed to get the victors over than anything else, there were definitive winners and losers. Here is a look at which Superstars and Divas fell where on the June 10 episode of NXT.

Winner: Blue Pants

Sure, returning Diva Blue Pants lost to Emma in a clean and decisive manner, but that does not shroud the fact ol' Blue Pants remains one of the most over acts in the NXT Arena.

In fact, an argument can be made that she is more over than some of the contracted competitors, raising questions as to why Triple H and company have not made the decision to get her under signed up.

Leva Bates, the woman behind the lovable loser, is a talented worker and has been doing some incredibly stuff for Shine, an all-women's promotion run by former WCW and TNA star Daffney. The promo work there alone proves she can be every bit the entertainer that she isa wrestler.

Whether that contract offer eventually comes remains to be seen, but the love the fans in Full Sail University have for Blue Pants has forged a connection that some performers will never experience in their entire careers.

Loser: Mojo Rawley

Mojo Rawley is among the worst in-ring competitors in all of professional wrestling. And that covers a lot of ground.

Not only is his in-ring work clunky at best, his persona is so grating and so ridiculously over the top that fans and viewers would much rather switch to something else than watch him bounce up and down like a kangaroo on speed.

He returned to the squared circle on Thursday night, partnering with Zack Ryder to defeat Elias Samson and Mike Wallace, a pair of workers who, despite their jobber status, did not deserve to have to make Rawley look like a star.

Whereas fans will look at someone such as Sasha Banks, Sami Zayn or Finn Balor and recognize them as the complete package, it is amazing to believe that someone who has as little going for him outside of his real-life friendship with New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski can still receive meaningful television time.

Perhaps he will learn and develop into a somewhat entertaining professional wrestler, but at this point, his character is so truly awful that it would be understandable if the audience checked out before he ever got to that point.

Winner: Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch returned to NXT for the first time since her Match of the Year candidate against Sasha Banks, defeating new developmental prospect and fellow SHIMMER Women's Wrestling alumnus Jessie McKay.

Despite playing defense a little more than she probably should have, this was a showcase opportunity the Irishwoman more than deserved.

No performer has consistently improved to the point that Lynch has over the last year. She has found her stride in the ring and has shaken off the ridiculousness of the Irish stereotype she was asked to play early in her run with the company.

Now, with a cool entrance and an even cooler in-ring look, she has finally made that all-important connection with the audience that will allow her to climb the mountain in NXT and one day stand where her former associate and current NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks resides.

Loser: Bull Dempsey

The big man is dead in the water after Wednesday night's broadcast.

Not only has Bull Dempsey fallen off significantly following his loss to Baron Corbin at one of the more recent Takeover specials, his weight was poked fun at in the finish to Thursday night's match against Tyler Breeze.

The fans chanted "cardio" at him as he chased Prince Pretty around the squared circle before he lost because he was winded.

How this is meant to help get him over as a threat in NXT is unfathomable.

For someone who was once touted as the Last of a Dying Breed and received an impressive amount of television time, to see him in the position he now finds himself in is surprising. It looked very much like Triple H and NXT management expected him to feature heavily in the brand, but now, he loses more than he wins and is on the verge of becoming an undercard comedy act, which does no favors to him or a brand with its fair share of jobbers.

Dempsey is in a bad spot right now and, unfortunately, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel appears nonexistent at this point.
