Adrien Broner Targets Amir Khan, Danny Garcia, More After Shawn Porter Fight
Although he faces the ominous task of inflicting what would be only a second career defeat on Shawn Porter in Las Vegas on June 20, Adrien Broner is already looking ahead to what the future might hold.
The controversial American has rebuilt his career after a heavy loss to Marcos Maidana back in 2013 and will be hoping to enrich his reputation with a classy win over Porter later this month. If he does so, the likes of Amir Khan and Danny Garcia are in his cross hares, per Sky Sports:
"I'll fight anybody. It ain't nothing new. I'm AB and anybody can get it. I want to be the best and to be the best you have to beat the best.
He [Porter] wasn't the only option out there. He was just the one who took the fight. I wanted Amir Khan, Danny Garcia, Maidana again, Lucas Mathysse.
I want to fight them all. But right now we have Shawn Porter in front of us and we're going to take care of business and we'll see what's next.

In fairness to Broner, after that crushing defeat against a big-hitting Maidana, he’s steadily pieced his reputation back together.
The 25-year-old has been a slick victor against Carlos Molina, Emmanuel Taylor and John Molina Jr. in his previous three bouts and although Porter represents another step up in class, there are plenty in the boxing cognoscenti backing Broner to triumph.
As noted by Dan Rafeal of ESPN.com, against Molina Jr. in particular, Broner secured a particularly lopsided victory:
If he does get past Porter, Broner will have an array of options and the prospect of a bout with Khan is a tantalising one. Both men have excellent technical skills, have followed similar career paths after tough losses and are desperate to propel their reputation to superstar status.
They’ve already discussed the prospect of a bout too, as we can see here:
After outclassing Chris Algieri, Khan seems to have eyes for more illustrious opponents at this juncture, though. The Bolton-born star has made no secret of his intention to get in the ring with pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, per the Daily Mirror, while an all-British showdown against undefeated Kell Brook has also been touted, per Sky Sports.
Garcia would be another fascinating option for Broner. The 26-year-old secured a controversial victory over Lamont Peterson last time out, but the man known as Swift is unbeaten and has already secured wins over illustrious names like Khan, Erik Morales and Zab Judah in his career.

Indeed, as noted by Peter Clarke of TheBoxingVoice.com, there are a lot of quality performers bubbling below the very elite level in this particular weight class:
Broner can’t take anything for granted against Porter, though. The Ohio-born puncher has only lost once in his career to date—a controversial one to Brook at that—and will be Broner’s first major test since being badly beaten up by Maidana.

Porter, like the Argentinian, is a powerful, clean striker and someone Broner must be very wary of. But it’s a litmus test the latter was always going to have to face in an attempt to reform his reputation in the sport and the prospect of so many enticing fights further down the line will provide a major incentive to get over the line.
