WWE Risks Watering Down Money in the Bank Ladder Match with Too Many Stars
The annual Money in the Bank ladder match is one of the main highlights of WWE's calendar.
With unpredictability and a level of extremity you don't see too often elsewhere, it is one of the standout bouts of the entire year.
With the likes of Roman Reigns and Randy Orton involved this year, there's plenty in the way of star power. There's also a nod to the future with the inclusion of Neville, for example.

Although some stars who are in the match merit their selection, there are others who maybe do not. The fact that we currently stand at seven stars for the match, with perhaps another still to be announced, would take us up to a staggering eight men involved in one match.
As a result, the quality of the match becomes extremely watered down, owing to simply too much going on.
The Money in the Bank match is good in that it allows multiple storylines and bouts to go on in and out of the ring, but you need to continually be careful that there are not masses of action detracting from the main bout itself.
With potentially eight men involved, you realistically could have a match that has simply too much going on in all parts. It will mean that the people wrestling in the match will all get less of a share of the TV time and less of a spotlight as a whole.
How does that help someone like Neville progress? He's unlikely to win the match, but another strong showing on pay-per-view here would give him even more momentum starting out in WWE.

If he can't impose his presence on the match because there's too much going on elsewhere, he may suffer as a result of it.
It's all well and good putting so many people in the match if you're intent on giving plenty of fresh talent a chance, but the involvement of two men in particular does little to inspire.
Kofi Kingston has worked well lately with The New Day, but he's been given a shot in this match for one obvious reason: his track record in these kinds of matches. He'll always produce a spectacular spot or segment at some point, but at this time in the WWE's development, the spot would have been better going to someone else.
The same can be said about Kane. He's clearly in there because of his involvement with The Authority, but he could have played a prominent role in the match without being a competitor.
What someone like Bray Wyatt has done to not get a shot is anyone's guess. Again, the amount of competitors in the match is watering down the contest as a whole, but so is the caliber of competitors.
The Money in the Bank match should be one of the most captivating contests of the year. In 2015 though, there's a real risk that the contest has been watered down so much with seven or eight men involved.
