Cesaro Should Get a Major Singles Push Whilst Tyson Kidd Recovers from Injury
For the last few months, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd have been the MVPs of the rejuvenated WWE tag team division.
Their feud with the New Day has produced many excellent matches, including a terrific 2 Out of 3 Falls match at the Payback pay-per-view.
However, a spanner has been thrown in the works of their rise to the top. Per PWInsider, Kidd suffered a bad neck injury in a match with Samoa Joe at the Raw tapings on Monday.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
WWE is remaining tight-lipped as to the severity of the injury, but it is suggested that Kidd could miss several months. This raises serious questions over the future of his tandem with Cesaro.
There are two options here. They can either allow Cesaro to stagnate off television, like Jimmy Uso currently is whilst his brother recovers from injury, or they can push him as a singles performer.

The Usos always come as a pair. Cesaro, however, is a main event-caliber singles star who deserves a push. Simply put, he is too good to spend several months on the bench.
Now is the ideal opportunity to give Cesaro the solo recognition he deserves.
The pair have recently turned babyface as a result of their feud with New Day. Cesaro, in particular, has been long overdue a face turn and now finally has the character alignment that suits him.
New Day’s excellent heel work has done a great job in getting Cesaro and Kidd over as babyfaces. If Cesaro sets his sights on another hated character, crowds will immediately warm to him.
He is a reliable worker who can have a good match with anyone and wow the crowd with his spectacular offensive moves, including the Cesaro Swing, which was an enormous hit during his hottest period around WrestleMania XXX.

Cesaro emerged from that show having won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He looked set for a major babyface push, but he was left floundering in an afterthought of a relationship with Paul Heyman that never amounted to anything. He was then left directionless until forming a team with Kidd, who was riding a hot heel run on NXT.
Now, once again, the stage is set. This time, WWE must not miss the boat.
Cesaro, given the right tools from WWE Creative, could become a fixture of the main event picture. Right now, he suits a babyface role, but there’s plenty of scope for him to work as a heel in the future. He’s a versatile performer, capable of working a mat-based, technical style or a flashy, fast-paced one with plenty of power.
This is not the type of guy who should be tossed aside whilst he waits for his tag partner to heal up.
It also helps that there’s a clear opportunity to give Cesaro a singles opportunity on the way. The Money in the Bank PPV is only a week away and Cesaro would make for a great surprise entry in the ladder match.

He could petition the Authority for a spot on this week’s Raw, leading to him being placed in a qualifying match.
It’s not even as if he will feel like a rogue addition either as Kofi Kingston—who has been part of Cesaro’s ongoing tag team feud—is already a part of the match.
He does not have to win the ladder match. If he is simply offered the opportunity to showcase his immense power and take a few memorable bumps, he will endear himself even further to the fans.
His singles run needn’t be forever, either. He would not need to formally split from Kidd, which leaves open the possibility of a reunion. Failing that, a feud between the two men on Kidd’s return would almost certainly produce excellent matches.
The possibilities for a Cesaro singles run are endless, and he is certainly a competitor who deserves the spotlight.
With WWE seemingly keen to build their main eventers for the future, they would be missing out on something very special if they left out the Swiss Superman.
