WWE Money in the Bank 2015: Biggest X-Factors to Watch at PPV

Donald WoodJun 4, 2015

The 2015 edition of WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view is one of the most anticipated shows of the year, and there are several Superstars who should be considered the biggest X-factors at the event.

From Roman Reigns being the favorite to win the Money in the Bank briefcase to Kevin Owens squaring off against John Cena in one of the most anticipated rematches in recent memory, there are high expectations for this year’s edition of the PPV.

Here are the biggest X-factors at Money in the Bank 2015.

Roman Reigns

As of right now, the favorite to win the Money in the Bank ladder match is Roman Reigns, but whether WWE pulls the trigger on that move after what happened at the Royal Rumble remains to be seen.

Reigns has undoubtedly gotten better in the ring and on the mic, but he is still proving himself in the eyes of many fans. While the WWE Universe could embrace him if he were to win the briefcase, a vocal portion of the crowd will hate him once again.

The best long-term booking would be allowing Reigns to hold the briefcase for several months while he continues to sharpen his teeth in secondary storylines. Once WWE is ready to let him win the championship, it would make for a huge moment.

Kevin Owens

After stunning the world and beating John Cena clean in the middle of the ring, Kevin Owens has earned the respect of the majority of the wrestling fans who did not know who he was before he walked onto the main roster.

Now, Owens has to follow it up.

It’s hard to imagine Cena taking yet another loss to Owens, but that doesn’t mean the NXT champion can’t look strong in defeat. Instead of having Cena pin Owens clean, let the challenger get disqualified when he goes overboard attacking the United States champion.

Regardless of how the match ends, the hope is that the feud continues and WWE continues booking Owens to look like a strong heel who can take down a top star of Cena's caliber.

Bray Wyatt

One of the biggest mysteries in the WWE right now is Bray Wyatt. The enigmatic star is one of the best mic workers in the business and deserves to be in a main storyline, but since his loss at WrestleMania to The Undertaker, he has been forgotten.

While his matches are consistently entertaining and he is trusted in main event-caliber matches, such as the one we saw against Reigns on Monday, he is not booked for Money in the Bank and missed Elimination Chamber.

Why isn’t this guy getting more from the WWE Creative team?

The hope is that Wyatt will begin a marquee long-term feud at Money in the Bank—whether it’s Reigns, Randy Orton or another top face—and that it will lead to a top match that can be billed as a co-headliner at the SummerSlam event.
