WWE Money in the Bank 2015: Full Card Predictions After Elimination Chamber
The warriors who battled inside the Elimination Chamber will have little time to heal, as WWE Money in the Bank 2015 is already nearly here.
Ryback has just two weeks to get ready for the first challenger for his Intercontinental Championship. Seth Rollins, Nikki Bella and The New Day have imposing opposition heading their way at the upcoming pay-per-view as well.
The next event already has two bouts set. WWE announced that John Cena will face off against Kevin Owens again. In addition, the Money in the Bank ladder match is set to include Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Kofi Kingston and Sheamus.
Looking at how Elimination Chamber unfolded and projecting the narrative arcs ahead provides a look at what other matches to expect at Money in the Bank.
Ryback vs. Bray Wyatt (Intercontinental Championship)
1 of 5Bray Wyatt likely watched the Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber match from a monitor backstage.
A man he had been hunting down for weeks, a man he left hurting in a match at Payback walked away the champion. For The Eater of Worlds to not then demand a title shot is a missed opportunity.
A feud between him and Ryback had already begun to take shape in the past few weeks. WWE spent a lot of time building up that feud just to walk away from it now. Ryback facing the ominous threat that is Wyatt is an easy way to follow up on all of that.
Besides, WWE doesn't seem to have anything else for Wyatt. One might expect him to join the Money in the Bank ladder match, but so far, he's not involved in that clash. That leaves him available for another go-round with Ryback, this time with gold on the line.
The New Day vs. The Prime Time Players (Tag Team Championship)
2 of 5The New Day walked away champs in the first-ever tag team Elimination Chamber match, but The Prime Time Players gave the trio its toughest test.
Darren Young and Titus O'Neil were the last team eliminated. They had the most intense collisions with the champions during this bout.
That makes it easy for WWE to go forward with a rivalry between these squads.
Cesaro and Tyson Kidd are likely going to have to climb back up the ladder. WWE didn't treat them like top contenders at Elimination Chamber; they didn't score a single elimination. The Prime Time Players, meanwhile, ousted both that pair and The Ascension.
The fact that it was Young and O'Neil whom WWE featured in a post-match interview points to them being in line for another title shot.
Paige vs. Nikki Bella (Divas Championship)
3 of 5Naomi looked to be charging into a championship reign. After Elimination Chamber, though, she has now lost two straight title bouts against Nikki Bella.
In the Triple Threat on Sunday, Naomi took the pinfall. They were no extenuating circumstances, no after-the-bell shenanigans. Naomi just got pinned.
While she won't be far from the title picture, it looks as if Paige is stepping into the top spot for now.
Paige didn't get a one-on-one championship match after winning the Battle Royal in London weeks ago. And WWE has clearly felt comfortable having her stay in title contention, as she's done so for the majority of her run on the main roster.
Despite this being a babyface-against-babyface matchup, it's the likely pairing for Money in the Bank. WWE has paid little attention to face-heel dynamics in the women's division. And Paige and Nikki are among the only women the company has showcased as of late.
King Barrett vs. Mark Henry
4 of 5King Barrett failed to capture another Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber. He didn't make it to the early list of contenders for the Money in the Bank ladder match, either. WWE will instead offer him something less desirable—a midcard bout where he will be the underdog.
Mark Henry returned on Sunday as Rusev's replacement in the IC title contest.
He and Barrett wasted no time in clashing with each other. Barrett looked to rile up the big man while he was still in his pod. When Dolph Ziggler's flying body broke open that vessel, The World's Strongest Man soon stomped his way toward Barrett.
That animosity will continue.
Henry needs someone to collide with to make use of his return. Barrett is in need of a new rival after Neville moved on to Bo Dallas and then to the Money in the Bank ladder match.
And with how much WWE has asked Barrett to lose, the smart money will be on Henry's comeback being a triumphant one.
Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (No Disqualification, WWE Championship)
5 of 5Elimination Chamber's main event ended in controversy, confusion and in such a way that assures a rematch.
After a replacement referee counted to three, Dean Ambrose believed he had won the WWE title. Instead, WWE pulled a play out of Dusty Rhodes' playbook and had the original, briefly injured referee reverse the decision, having Seth Rollins only lose by disqualification.
There was no clearer sign following this bout that this story will continue than Ambrose stealing the world title.
It says that The Lunatic Fringe isn't done battling The Authority. It says that he isn't done challenging for Rollins' belt, either.
With Roman Reigns in the Money in the Bank ladder match and Brock Lesnar still not on-screen, Ambrose gets another crack at the gold here. He's too hot not to plug into the top spot again.
This time, though, he will force it to be a no-disqualification match. That way, Money in the Bank won't be a repeat of Elimination Chamber.
