Houston Flooding Causes Crazy Scene at Astros' Minute Maid Park

Kyle NewportMay 31, 2015

Houston residents have had to deal with flooding this week as an enormous amount of rain has hit the city. The rain has even been too much for the Houston Astros' Minute Maid Park, a stadium with a retractable roof.

Saturday's game between the Astros and Chicago White Sox had a bit of an unusual scene, with rain making its way into the closed stadium.

The rain also made its way to the players.

"It was hitting me when I was warming up [in the bullpen in right-center field]," Houston reliever Pat Neshek said, per Alyson Footer of MLB.com.

As a result of the heavy rain, the Astros allowed fans to stay at the park until the storm passed.

Chicago and Houston were able to play Sunday, resulting in a 6-0 White Sox victory.
