Jonathan Holland, Nick Miller, or Todd Watkins: Who Would You Pick?

If you had to select one WR out of Jonathan Holland, Nick Miller, or Todd Watkins to make the final 53-man roster which one would you take and why? Today is the last day in which the coaching staff will meet and discuss players who should make the team and who will be cut.

For the WR's postion, there looks to be a three-way battle for the last and final spot WR spot on the roster.

With five spots already locked

Darrius Heyward-Bey, Louis Murphy, Johnnie Lee Higgins, Javon Walker, and Chaz Schilens.

The Raiders are looking for that sixth WR to have a role on special teams, and if and when called for WR duty to be ready to step in and make plays.

In the return game, Oakland seems set with Johnnie Lee Higgins returning punts, as last season Johnnie Lee Higgins was robbed of a Pro Bowl nod as he led the NFL in punt return touchdowns and yards.

If anything there could be a void at kick off returner, I believe Justin Miller will once again take this role as last season he did a very good job for the sliver and black.

This preseason we have seen WR Nick Miller in the role as a punt and kick returner, however his play in speical teams hasn't been solid, against San Francisco he fumbled what could of been a game winning drive away with under four minutes left in the game.

Last night vs Seattle he did have a pair of nice returns, but once again made another mistake in fair catching a ball inside the 10-yard line, he should of let it drop and hope the ball go inside the endzone.

Nick Miller has been somewhat of a fan favorite to make the team, however if Oakland feels good with Higgins and Miller returning punts and kick-offs, and Nick Miller role is only sixth WR, I could see him being cut.

I do like his speed, I believe its going to be a long shot for him to make it. What Miller has that Holland and Watkins don't is a signature catch, the one vs Dallas was very nice.

Next, I will take a look at Jonathan Holland. If I had to pick which out of the three WR runs the best routes I would pick Holland. Last season, Holland spent the first 12 games of the season on the pratice squad before getting signed to the active roster, Holland last season was a gunner on speical teams and was even able to recover a fumble.

If it was up to me, I would take Holland over Nick Miller, just on the fact that I think our sixth WR should have a role on special teams, Holland being 6'1" with tons of speed will be able to get down the field fast and stop other teams punt returners.

Another thing I also like about Holland is his ability to catch high balls, one's where you have to jump in the air over the middle.

In three preseason games (didn't play vs 49ers), Jonathan Holland has 4 catches for 85 yards and 1 TD.

It's also a long shot for Holland to make the opening day roster but I don't be shocked if you see him over Nick Miller. Holland can ball.

Last is Todd Watkins, in which I like him for the same reasons I like Holland, expect Watkins is taller and older then Holland and Miller.

Todd Watkins is a very good gunner, if you watch him when the Raiders punt he gives a good effort each time down the field.

Watkins has improved his route running skills and standing at 6'2 he is a decent size option for JaMarcus if needed. Watkins lacks the speed of Miller, and the route running of Holland but what Watkins has over both of those guys is he is the better speical teams option out of the three.

Watkins played in eight games last season with the Raiders, either two things are going to happen, Tom Cable was impressed with what Watkins did last season and and will look to bring him back.

Or either Nick Miller or Jonathan Holland has out played him.

Couple of questions for you to answer.

1) Would you rather see returning kick-offs, Nick Miller or Justin Miller.

2) If Nick Miller isn't going to be returning kick-offs would you want him on the team behind our top 5 WR's?

3) Do you feel Jonathan Holland is a under the radar type of player? Or is he just a pratice squad player at best?

4) Do you feel Todd Watkins is a under the radar type of player? Or is he just a pratice squad player at best?

5) What do you think?
