French Open 2015: Twitter Reacts to Saturday's Bracket Results, Scores, Winners
World No. 1 Serena Williams was run mightily close by Victoria Azarenka in her 2015 French Open third-round match, but the American eventually came through a titanic battle, winning 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
There were to be no major upsets in Saturday's play in the men's draw, as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray all cruised through to the fourth round with straight-sets victories.
The full results from Saturday's play at Roland Garros can be found here, with the updated men's draw here and women's draw here, via the event’s official website.
A two-time winner at Roland Garros, Williams was put on the back foot early on against her Belarusian opponent, as she lost the first set 6-3.
Azarenka was then a break up in the second set and looked ready to cause a major upset, but Williams turned it around to win 6-4, taking four games in a row.
Azarenka broke the American in the first game of the first set, but she simply could not live with the power of Williams, who eventually bulldozed her way to a hard-fought victory and claimed a last-16 berth.
It was a heated encounter between the pair, per Sports Illustrated Tennis, and in the end, Serena was simply too good, per BBC Sport's Russell Fuller:
Nine-time Paris champion Nadal took on Russia's Andrey Kuznetsov, and the Spaniard eased through with 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 on Court Suzanne-Lenglen.
It was a fine performance from Nadal, who has endured a troubled clay-court season thus far but looks in ominous form as he goes for an incredible 10th Roland Garros title, per Sports Illustrated's Jon Wertheim:
Nadal will face Jack Sock in the next round, the American also having come through in three sets against Borna Coric on Saturday.
However, sixth seed Nadal is not the only top star in fine form, with world No. 1 Djokovic running out as a routine 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 winner against Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis in his third round match.
As ESPNTennis notes, the Serb is on an impressive winning streak, and it will seemingly take a heroic effort from someone to stop him in his tracks as he goes for a maiden French Open title:
"All fun and games right now for Djokovic who wins his 25th match in a row with a 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory over Kokkinakis. pic.twitter.com/fD9AE51a77

Djokovic will face Richard Gasquet in the next round after he came through in four sets against Kevin Anderson, adding to a strong French contingent in the second week in Paris, per ESPNTennis:
"Gasquet outlasts Anderson in four sets to join four other Frenchmen - Chardy, Monfils, Simon & Tsonga - in @rolandgarros Round of 16. #RG15

Of the big guns on show Saturday, Murray faced arguably the biggest challenge in the shape of big-hitting Australian Nick Kyrgios.
The Scot came through 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 in just under two hours in an entertaining encounter in which Kyrgios often turned on the style, per Roland Garros:
Despite his opponent's talents, Murray came through without dropping a set, and he will face Frenchman Jeremy Chardy next up. Chardy beat Belgian David Goffin 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
Kyrgios hailed Murray's athleticism after the encounter while bemoaning an elbow injury that hampered him throughout, according to BBC Sport's Piers Newbery:
Spain's David Ferrer had to work hard against Simone Bolelli, but eventually, he came through in five sets with a 6-3, 1-6, 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Fourth seed Petra Kvitova came through with relative ease against Irina-Camelia Begu in the women's draw to move through to the last 16, with the Wimbledon champion winning 6-3, 6-2—her first straight-sets victory of the tournament so far.
America's Sloane Stephens was similarly efficient in taking out Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova 6-4, 6-1, and her last-16 clash with Williams will likely be a great spectacle.
Sunday sees the start of Round 4, with Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori and Ana Ivanovic all in action.
