Brandon Deaderick: Shot On Monday, Cleared To Play On Thursday! Amazing
The Jones/Ingram/Harris' investigation has pretty well dominated the news this week. All of the headlines & blogs have been asking will they be cleared before the VT Game? What if they are not cleared? Yet, the story that I find really amazing is the Brandon Deaderick story.
Brandon gets out of his car last Monday night and a wanna-be thug attempts to rob him. Brandon fights back and ends up taking a bullet through his arm and exiting through his hip.
As I read the various stories on this shooting, the first thought that pops in my head is what was this wanna-be-thug thinking? Brandon is a Division 1 college football player, a well conditioned athlete, he has played in 34 games, he is a 6'4" 287lb Defensive End and here you have a punk kid, who for whatever reason, decides to rob Brandon? I am sure that this wanna-be quickly can to the realization that Brandon was going to pound him into the ground. Afterall, he had no chance in this fight. I mean think about it.. There was zero chance that he was stronger than Brandon, zero chance that he could run faster than Brandon and for his own self-preservation, this coward fires a shot and runs. Luckily, very luckily, Brandon suffers a "flesh wound". Man, it could have been so much worse.
Brandon's week:
Shot Monday Night and taken to the hospital.
On Tuesday, around 4pm, Brandon is released from the hospital.
On Wednesday coach Saban issues a statement that "Brandon will miss Saturday's game against Virginia Tech". Brandon also returned practice on Wednesday, no contact, but returned to practice.
On Thursday, Brandon Deaderick was cleared by UA's medical staff to return full speed to practice.
It is just amazing to me.. Shot on Monday, returns to practice on Wed's, cleared on Thurs and is game ready on Friday. I hope that Brandon not only gets to play against VT, but that he makes Tyrod Taylor's life miserable on Saturday Night.
Glad your OK Brandon. Go Reek havoc on the VT offense! RTR!!
