Internet Reacts to Adrian Peterson's Twitter Rant About Contract with Vikings

Thursday afternoon, Adrian Peterson went on a nearly hourlong Twitter rant about his ongoing contract battle with the Minnesota Vikings, who aren't feeling especially generous with the admitted child-abuser.

It was a vague, strange social media manifesto with the general thrust being that the team should do the right thing and fork over his guaranteed camel-party money.

It's the honorable thing to do, after all:

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

I love people who think they know it all! Smh, Research how many NFL teams hasn't honored a player's contract & learn something.

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

Question for the people, is a contract two sided or one?

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

Ok great two sided! Well why when one party decides ... Mr. ? we wan't you to take a pay cut now or better yet flat out release you!

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

There's never no talk about honoring a contract!

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

I know hundreds of player's that wished their team would've HONORED the contract! But instead got threw to the side like like trash.

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

A lill crazy how one side has so much power that they can do as they please when it come to the contract! But when the other-side (player's)

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

Feels for whatever reason! Family, Change of scenery or simply - what they feels just might work best for them! Those same laws don't apply!

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

It's all about honoring you're contract! Sounds like free will is being a lil challenged to me!

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

All I'm saying as a Minnesota Viking player! WE need the same power to do as all 32 teams do we they feel, under contract or not!

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

It's time for a change! Then again I'm grateful because at the end of the day, I know some of those same guys that wish a team held on!

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson

Also I appreciate all my colleagues for voting ya boy into the Top 100 ! Mad Love & Respect goes out to all of y'all (You All)! God Bless

Of course, the Internet had some responses to the running back's airing of grievances. Many were astonishingly unsympathetic to the millionaire's plight:

Mike Tanier @MikeTanier

Is the Twitter handle @WorldsTiniestViolin taken? If so, the person who owns it should respond to @AdrianPeterson .

mike freeman @mikefreemanNFL

Magna Carta was one-sided as well, ya'll.

Omar Kelly @OmarKelly

IF Adrian Peterson was being underpaid I might have some sympathy. But he's due $12M-plus this year. HELLO! http://t.co/P7te40RunS

Kenny Mayne @Kenny_Mayne

There's a chance Adrian Peterson thinks he's using the DM function..

Blake Baratz @blakebaratz

For you, @AdrianPeterson. http://t.co/vAHnSzpjLQ

Maybe have an orange peanut and a nap, AP. That's enough Internet for one day.

Dan is on Twitter. Sometimes you don't have to hear both sides.
