French Open 2015 Schedule: Replay TV Coverage, Live Stream for Wednesday's Draw
The 2015 French Open's second-round action kicked off Wednesday, and No. 2 seeds Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova were on the courts at Roland Garros early.
Federer emerged victorious by a score of 6-2, 7-6 (1), 6-3 against Marcel Granollers in his 78th career match at Roland Garros. The former world No. 1 has only notched one French Open title during his illustrious career but reflected on his high comfort level in the event during a press conference, via Stuart Fraser of RolandGarros.com:
"Experience helps in the sense that you're more relaxed. Entering a tournament like this, you know how to prepare. You go into a first-round match in a calm manner without any panic, whereas maybe 10 years ago or more, you're so worried about everything, you hope that you did the right things, you hope that you're going to play OK, you hope your opponent is not going to play the best.
"
Sharapova also fared well on Wednesday, defeating Vitalia Diatchenko 6-3, 6-1. She's been playing very well on clay of late and will get her first true test at Roland Garros in Round 3, as she's set to take on No. 26 Samantha Stosur. Stosur is coming off an impressive win of her own, taking down Amandine Hesse 6-0, 6-1 on Wednesday.

Matchups to Watch
No. 4 Tomas Berdych vs. Radek Stepanek

This should be a highly intriguing match featuring two competitors from the Czech Republic.
Tomas Berdych is still looking for his first Grand Slam title. A big-hitting player, he is known to rack up winners but can be slightly erratic on the court. Both of those attributes were well on display during his first-round contest against Yoshihito Nishioka.
While Berdych went on to handily win the match 6-0, 7-5, 6-3, earning 32 winners while allowing just four along the way, he tallied 40 unforced errors. Still, he was able to prevail due to a strong serve that awarded him 82 percent of first-serve points and aggressive play that resulted in 71 percent of net points won.
The Czech shared his thoughts on his form during a press conference with the Associated Press, via FoxSports.com, after the match: "Everything has been aimed for this tournament. I'm feeling well. I'm feeling physically, mentally strong, and that's the best possible start that I can have."
Radek Stepanek will be attempting to rain on Berdych's parade. Another hard-hitting player, he defeated Ivan Dodig 5-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 in the first round after accumulating nine aces and winning 75 percent of his first-serve points. Also like Berdych, Stepanek's style of play causes him to accumulate plenty of winners but unforced errors are problematic.
No. 7 Ana Ivanovic vs. Misaki Doi

Ana Ivanovic has been in a major slump this year. She's fared very poorly on clay of late, failing to get past the round of 16 in Madrid and losing in the round of 32 in Rome. Her first match at Roland Garros wasn't exactly a momentum-builder, either.
While Ivanovic did emerge victorious in the first round, she dropped a set to Yaroslava Shvedova, winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. The Serb wasn't overly accurate on the serve, keeping just 60 percent of her first serves in play, but she did still manage to win 76 percent of her first-serve points. Although, she struggled on the rally a bit—especially in the first set—and finished with 26 unforced errors.
Ivanovic has a difficult draw, and the 2008 French Open champion needs to start building momentum immediately. A contest against Misaki Doi gives her that opportunity.
Doi took her opening match against Petra Cetkovska, winning 6-3, 6-2; however, her opponent was just as responsible for the contest's outcome. Doi was able to take advantage of Cetkovska's hiccups, as the Czech accumulated 32 unforced errors during the match. That was good news for Doi, as her play was also erratic.
Keeping just 51 percent of her first serves in play, winning 53 percent of her second-serve points and accumulating just 23 winners while racking up 21 unforced errors, Doi's win was hardly impressive. Ivanovic will have a tremendous chance to pull out a nearly flawless victory and build her confidence going forward. Although, if Doi takes a set, Ivanovic's struggles are likely to continue.
