Blame Canada! Why Team Canada Won't Win Gold Medal
With NFL betting and the college football season about to kickoff, and Lisa Loeb about to have a baby - or maybe just the first two - not many are talking about the Winter Olympics quite yet. Unless, of course, you are in Canada.
In Canada, people talk about hockey like a grade seven class at an all boys school talks about Meagan Fox: they obsess.
And just as that group of young boys who will never get their shot with Fox, Canadians will be heartbroken when Team Canada doesn't win the Olympic Gold Medal in hockey.

Steve Yzerman is running the show nowadays and anything but a gold will be a disappointment - especially since the Canuckleheads will have home ice advantage.
If you recall, Canada doesn't do well in the Olympics when they have the home court. In the last two Olympics that were housed in Canada (Montreal and Calgary), the Maple Leafs were shutout completely from gold medals. Not just in hockey, in every event.
And the same thing is going to happen again this year.
Team Canada puts far too much pressure on themselves, particularly in hockey, and that will be their downfall. It won't be the Americans who take their cookies, but there are enough solid European teams who put the boots to the Canadians.
Canada loves hockey so much that it will actual be fun again watching them get heartbroken, kind of like Ralph Wiggum when Lisa Simpson broke his heart. They just put too much pressure on themselves instead of just relaxing and playing hockey.
